I picked up a copy of Elle Magazine recently and noticed one of the fashion "in" columns talking about both the French Maid and Plaid looks for this season. I then noticed that I already have most of these latest trends in my closet.  The best thing about it is I actually didn't have to go out and buy anything new.  I just simply dug into my old stack of clothes to come up with fresh ideas!  In the article, I've included two brand new looks from Zac Posen that can be worn to the next fabulous soiree with your boyfriend! You will make him speechless in these latest wardrobe picks ...

This Fall the French Maid looks are tearing up the runway, according to Elle Magazine.  One of the readers wrote in that she would love to sport this seasons digs but is afraid of looking like she was 'dolled up for a porno movie'.  The response: "The key to carrying off these haute-bourgeois styles is that you must be both restrained and provocative.  In short: You gotta have soul!  And some great tough-girl accessories.  Otherwise you run the risk of looking like an out-of-place ingenue (Barbie in Paris) or what you fear: an underpaid porn star.  Throw on some point-toed stilettos and leather gloves, wear your hair either slightly mussed or severely slicked back, and don't forget some '50s-style paste jewelry.  Mixing street with salon chic is the look you're going for.  Think of Ghesquière's muses Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jennifer Connelly."

Also, another look that's making headlines is plaid.  Another reader asks if there are guidelines to keeping the look mature.  Response: "Because these looks are inherently playful, you can go wild with accessories to keep them from appearing too cliché.  Just to get you over this idea of "mature" dressing, I suggest you pink it out a bit with biker boots, natty driving gloves, and heavy chain-link accessories.  If you insist on subdued wardrobe choices, I'd steer you toward windowpane, the wallflower of plaids, such as the jet-set collarless pantsuit at Moschino Cheap and Chic.  Tailored and neat it might appeal to the Upper East Sider in you, though I think you'd have a lot more fun channeling an East Ender."
