Yves Saint Laurent
1936-2008

He once said his biggest regret was not having invented jeans.  It's one of the few things women don't owe him thanks for.  More important than all the classics he designed (le smoking, safari, gypsy, among others) was how Saint Laurent saw women.  In his eyes they weren't mannequins, goddesses, nor even arbiters of chic, but a vital force in modern society- and he made it his mission to dress them for this role.  Discarding the edict that lunches, teas and balls defined fashion's horizons, he searched the globe for fresh inspiration.  Chinese workers, French sailors, modern art, Studio 54, African tribes- all ignited his genius to create clothes women wanted and need to take their place in the 20th century.

I picked up a copy of Elle Magazine recently and noticed one of the fashion "in" columns talking about both the French Maid and Plaid looks for this season. I then noticed that I already have most of these latest trends in my closet.  The best thing about it is I actually didn't have to go out and buy anything new.  I just simply dug into my old stack of clothes to come up with fresh ideas!  In the article, I've included two brand new looks from Zac Posen that can be worn to the next fabulous soiree with your boyfriend! OK, so I went on a shopping spree with my crazy friend Rachelle today to only three different department stores (yes ladies, only three.  I'm trying to save!) We went to Lord and Taylor, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, and had the best time in the world (of course, because it's shopping:-)!

Well, after hours and hours of breezing the shoe tables, and hours of fitting, I found 7 of the best pair (I think!) of ankle boots for this season.

Beautiful, Alluring, Charming, Mesmeric, Enchanting, Spellbinding, Fascinating, Seductive, Compelling, Powerful, Stunning, Royal ....  2008 Ankle Boots!

I'm SssOO in love with ankle boots!!!  And who wouldn't be?  With the right clothes, accessories and makeup, you are sure to be the number one noticed anywhere you go.  I'm just here to share with you my absolute favorite picks, and lend you a lot of smart advice!

These boots I picked are crazy sexy- for sure.  But I'd make a case for sensible too, given how they finish off your stovepipes or bring tights to life. Wear them with mod clothes that echo the strong lines of the Yves Saint Laurent Troopers. The Costume National ankle boots will get you to work and back. Add further funk with contrasting tights with the Giuseppe Zanotti pair. The Jonathan Kelsey are cool, plus they have amazing craftsmanship!

One of the many style rules that I love to break is the rule that clutches are only for the evening.  Well, that fashion rule may very-well work well for others, but certainly not for Princesses.

A Princess is royalty 24 hours a day, not just in the evenings.  So, I went on a shopping extravaganza- at Nordstrom's- to pick out 7 daytime clutches that every 'Perfect Princess' should have in her custom made closet.

Who says that you have to wait for evening to carry these memorable magical clutches?  I love carrying my clutch bags any time of the day, especially to  luncheons with my truest girlfriends.

Ok, so I chose 7 daytime clutch bags that are just too enticing to save for the evening.  New Ladylike Retro good looks and a statement strap (on the "eiffie").   These clutches are multi-functional to suit your moodiest princess moods.

7 New clutch bags that should be your favorite new splurges for this coming season.     I found ....
